MTC Digital Film Activities


Care Leavers of Australia (CLAN). CLAN is a support and advocacy group for people brought up in care away from their family as state wards or children raised in orphanages, other institutions, or in foster care.

MTC is a leader in the delivery of MTC Digital Film Work for the Dole Activities. Unemployed people assist not-for-profit organisations to showcase their services through the creation of promotional videos. Activity participants gain skills in administration, team work, video production, editing and filming.

Get Wheel-Regener8

In conjunction with Sunrise Rotary, the project assembled and completed off-road style wheelchairs for child-victims of landmines or disease in developing countries. The project also customised pushbikes for children with disabilities in conjunction with TAD NSW (Technical Aid to the Disabled) as well as refurbished second hand refrigerators for distribution to local needy families.




The Banners and Mosaic Project

Under the sponsorship of Artlandish Inc. participants on this activity researched and designed a series of street banners to be hung in Redfern St, Redfern. The City of Sydney Council initially intended to select and print one design but impressed with the quality of work, chose nine designs. These were professionally printed and to the great delight of all involved were displayed along Redfern Street (July 2007). The second part of the activity involved designing and producing a mosaic for a child care centre.








Media and Design Activities

MTC is a leader in the delivery of Media and Design Work for the Dole Activities. Unemployed people assist not-for-profit organisations to showcase their services through the creation of Desk Top Published promotional documents, websites, promotional events and video production. Activity participants gain administrative and design skills.



Hop, Skip and Jump

A childcare activity where participants assisted at local childcare centres, gaining meaningful work experience. The project was directed towards the needs of parenting payment (single) recipients who required flexible activity hours because of their domestic family commitments. It was also established to address the employment deficit in the child care sector.


Helping Paws

This activity involved training Labrador pups to become “Assistance Dogs” for disabled children and adults. Participants gained skills in dog handling, grooming, behaviour training and outings for puppy socialisation.






Faces of the Inner West

A photographic compilation of local residents of the Inner West of Sydney, which was, exhibited at NSW Parliament House.


African Video Project

MTC, Sydney Community College, the May Murray Neighbourhood Centre and the African Communities Council collaborated to make a settlement video in the Dinka dialect for Sudanese Immigrants. Saving Old Souls – Heritage Restoration:

This project involved the restoration of a heritage-listed church in Leichhardt. The project gave participants skills in furniture restoration, carpentry, sanding, masonry, painting and general repair work.


Doo Wap a Van

This activity restored an accident damaged small community transport van and enabled it to be used again by community organisations. Participants developed skills in panel beating, spray-painting, interior trimming and vehicle detailing.


Bushland Regeneration for Green Corridors Management

An activity run in collaboration with the Baulkham Hills Shire Council which involved weeding, restoration, revegetation, plant propagation, and construction and maintenance of bushwalking tracks located at Col Sutton Park and William Joyce Reserve in Baulkham Hills.
