MTC Work Solutions (MTC) was awarded a new community project to be established and delivered on the Minto Housing Estate in partnership with the NSW Department of Housing.
The objectives of the project include:
- To undertake learning, training and employment strategies that effectively link into the Minto Place Management Strategy
- To improve the access of Minto residents to employment opportunities through the collaborative investment in the Minto community from services who provide employment support, vocational training and learning and to engage the Local Government, NSW Government, Australian Government, non-government agencies and businesses in local partnerships, initiatives and ventures
- To increase employment outcomes for residents through the delivery of evidence based innovation in learning, training and employment policy and service delivery
- To leverage resources from the broader employment and training systems that increase the pathways to employment for residents including brokering case management services and the onsite provision of training
- To engage key stakeholders in the Minto community in the development of a localised plan that will assist social housing tenants in the Minto community overcome barriers to accessing work, enterprise and training opportunities
On Wednesday 6th June, MTC attended an official launch of the Minto project which was officiated by NSW Minister for Housing, Matt Brown.
