Better Futures


Better Futures is a New South Wales Government initiative designed to improve the effectiveness of support and services for children and young people aged 9 to 18 years, and extends on the Family First Initiative.

The Transition through Middle Years project is a universal prevention and early intervention strategy designed to build capacity within the service system and build partnerships between service providers, schools and the community to assist young people transitioning through their middle years (I.e. From primary school to high school).

Aims:

  • Build strong and sustainable partnerships between service providers,  schools (Government and non-government) and parents to assist young people in successfully transitioning through their middle years
  • Prepare children for transition from primary school to the early years of high school
  • Engage young people in the middle years of school
  • To Build on evidence and build capacity by modelling projects that encourage systemic change in service delivery, ensuring that transition through middle years strategies are built into agencies strategic and management plans

MTC Work Solutions is pleased to announce funding available for the Sydney Metro Region from Better Futures. The funding is aimed at supporting pilot projects that support young people aged 9-14 through their transition into middle years.
